Send Me One of Your Wrestler's Matches.
I will watch the whole thing, record a video of what I see, and send it to you. What he does well, where it breaks down, and the one thing holding him back. Free. There is no call to book and no pitch at the end.
Send a MatchYou have watched the same thing happen from the bleachers more than once. He loses a match to a kid he should beat, and nobody can tell you why. His coach says keep drilling. The club says more mat time. You say nothing, because you are not sure what you are looking at.
I am. I have been coaching wrestlers since 2008, hundreds of them, including state champions, national champions, and a World medalist. When a match goes wrong, there is almost always one limiter underneath it. Not five things. One thing that, if it changed, would change the result. Strength that gives out in a scramble. An engine that empties in the second period. A shot that is slow because the legs are slow. Position that collapses when he is tired.
You cannot fix what you cannot name. Naming it is what I do.
Send me one full match. I watch all of it, the same way I watch film for my own sons. Then I record a video of me talking through what I see and send it to you. What is working, where it breaks down, and the one limiter that is costing him matches.
The video is yours. Keep it, show his coach, watch it with your wrestler. Most families have never had a strength and conditioning coach who knows wrestling look at their kid. This is that.
Because it is the fastest way for both of us to find out what your wrestler actually needs. Sometimes the fix is something I offer. If it is, I will say so plainly, and you can decide. Sometimes it is something you can handle at home for free, and I will tell you that too. The breakdown is the truth about your wrestler either way. What you do with it is up to you.
One full match, start to finish. Not a highlight reel. Highlights show me what he does well, and the limiter lives in everything the highlights cut out. Phone footage from the stands is fine.
Upload it to YouTube as an unlisted video and paste the link below. If you have a choice, send a loss. Losses carry more information.
I record five of these a week, in one block, with the same attention I give my own athletes' film. If the week is full, your match goes into next week's queue and I will tell you where you stand. Nothing about this is automated. That is the point.
Send the match.
If you are the wrestler reading this, have a parent send it. I break down film for families, not for kids on their own.
Is this really free?
Yes. No card, no call, no pitch waiting at the end. The video ends with what I found and one question for you. What happens after that is your call.
My wrestler is young. Is film useful yet?
Send it. The limiter is usually easier to see in younger wrestlers and easier to fix. There is no age at which film stops being useful.
Who sees the film?
Me. The breakdown video goes to you and nobody else. I do not post your wrestler’s film anywhere, and if anything from a breakdown would ever be useful publicly, I ask you first.
What if you find more than one problem?
I will see more than one. I will tell you the one that matters. A list of ten fixes is the same as no fix. One limiter, named, with what to do about it.
The season gets decided in rooms nobody watches, months before the first whistle. Finding out what is holding your wrestler back costs you a phone video and five minutes.
