Equipment to Build a Wrestler at Home
You don’t need a commercial gym to build a dominant wrestler. You need the right tools, in the right order, used consistently. Start with Tier 1 and add pieces as your budget allows.

The Strength & Conditioning System
This is the gear that runs the program. If you buy nothing else, buy this — in order.
Tier 1: The Foundation
These three items are what you need to run the program. Everything else builds on top of them. Start here.

Barbell
The foundation of real strength development. A standard 45lb Olympic barbell is what we use for squats, deadlifts, presses, cleans, snatches, and jerks.
For younger athletes still learning technique, add a 5lb training bar.

Bumper Plates
Bumper plates let you safely drop the bar on failed lifts, which matters when training the Olympic lifts. Standard iron plates do not work here.

Squat Rack with Pull-up Bar
For squats, presses, and pull-ups. Make sure whatever you buy has safety spotter arms so your athlete can train alone without a spotter.
Tier 2: The Game Changers
Once Tier 1 is in place, these items expand what you can train and accelerate progress.

Dumbbells or Kettlebells
Essential for single-leg work, accessory movements, and a wide range of conditioning pieces.

Plyometric Box
We use these to build explosive power. Buy the foam version if you can — a missed jump on a wooden box is a shin injury.

Gymnastics Rings
Rings build upper body and core strength a bar alone can't replicate. Dips, rows, and push-ups on rings force the stabilizers to work in a way fixed equipment doesn't.
Tier 3: For the Families Who Are All In
These take a garage gym from functional to elite.

GHD (Glute-Ham Developer)
The best single piece of equipment for building the posterior chain and core — glutes, hamstrings, lower back, and midline.

Cardio Machine
For conditioning that doesn't beat up the joints the way running does. Rower, ski erg, or assault bike — all three work. Coach Dane's personal go-to is the assault bike.
Beyond the Essentials
Not required to run the system — just the rest of the gear we actually use, from the gym to the gym bag to the kitchen.

The Equipment Is Just the Environment
A basic rack, a barbell, and bumper plates will take a wrestler further than a commercial gym they never use. The system is what produces the athlete — and the daily programming lives inside Champion’s Circle.
